AT~SEA discusses ecological aspects of large scale seaweed cultivation with governmental and non-governmental organisations.

In September 2014 the AT~SEA consortium invited a number of governmental (UK and Denmark) and non-governmental organizations (WWF and Greenpeace) to Brussels to discuss the potential ecological risks of large scale seaweed cultivation.

This resulted in a fruitful and constructive discussion during which important issues were raised. Final conclusions of the day were that large scale seaweed cultivation can become an important industry in Europe and that all participants are willing to continue discussing ecological aspects in the near future.
